Turmeric is one of the best anti-aging agents. It is a spice that contains a high level of antioxidants. Early appearance of aging signs such as wrinkles and fine lines on the skin is mostly due to the oxidative stress caused by free radicals. Antioxidants in turmeric can help keep the integrity of your skin by protecting it against the harmful effects of these free radicals. Turmeric has also been found to increase the elasticity of the skin by stimulating the growth of new cells.

Our skin is kept moist and supple by the natural oils secreted by the sebaceous glands. However, excess secretion of natural oils on the skin can lead to clogged pores, bacterial infection and the development of acne.

Turmeric is a great remedy that helps control the oiliness of the skin. According to a research that studied turmeric’s effect on the production of oil on the skin, applying turmeric twice a day for two weeks helped in significantly reducing the amount of oils on the skin. Researchers suggest that this effect is likely due to the presence of fatty acids and phytosterols in turmeric that have the potential to reduce the excess quantities of skin oils.

Shea Butter

  • It's Moisturizing

Shea butter is full of vitamins that are great for your skin, including vitamins A, E, and F. It also contains linolenic acid and other types of fatty acids your skin needs. The acids in shea butter are similar to your skin's natural sebum the oil on your skin. You can use shea butter to help prevent dry skin and to keep your skin nourished and healthy. That's why shea butter soap is a good option for most people.

Many types of soap leave strip your skin's natural oils away, leaving it dry and cracked. But the moisturizing effects of shea butter soap allow it to disinfect and hydrate your skin at the same time.

  • It Smooths the Skin

Shea butter soap is less harsh than other types of soap. This combined with its moisturizing properties will leave your skin feeling smooth and soft. But shea butter soap also contains unsaponifiable compounds. These compounds allow more of the shea butter to be delivered to your skin than other types of soap made with oils. Shea butter is also full of things like linolenic, palmitic, oleic, and stearic acids that protect your skin from drying out and helps the skin produce its own natural collagen.

Because of this, shea butter soap can be an effective anti-aging product.

When you use this type of soap, you can develop softer and stronger skin.

  • It's Anti-Inflammatory

Not only that, but the soap will also clean and disinfect the area to promote faster healing.

Honey and Oatmeal

Our Honey & Oatmeal bar was the very first bar we launched here at Harvest Garden and it is still one of our most popular soaps in our natural skincare range. Oatmeal isn’t only a healthy breakfast option; it also has a very impressive list of benefits for your skin. It is anti-inflammatory, naturally contains saponins (a cleansing agent), it’s very moisturizing and helps to gently remove dead skin cells. If you ever had chicken pox as a kid, you’ll probably remember your Mum adding oatmeal to your bath. This is because it also helps soothe itchy skin.

We also add some honey into the mix and you have the added benefits of it being antibacterial and full of antioxidants. Honey is also a natural humectant, which means it draws moisture from the air to help moisturize and soothe your skin and because of its antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, honey helps kill bacteria that may cause acne and other skin conditions ... and we only use the best quality raw honey.

This is a wholesome, gorgeous smelling bar of soap that doesn’t contain any added essential oils so it is suitable for the most sensitive skin types. It is also wonderful to use on your face at the end of the day to remove foundation and it is non-drying.
